No binoculars?

No problem – they'll have a crate full of good ones (including some really good ones), and will show you how to use them if necessary.

AND here's a great value-for-money tip...See at least twenty species of birds or the walk is free!

We ain't talking birdseed here!

Longfellow Guest House Now Features Large Flat Screen TV

Get the Big Picture for Your Fall Vacation

We love it when our guests have great ideas about how to improve the experience of staying in our vacation guest house. This summer due to popular request we received from last year's guests, we've installed a beautiful new flat screen digital TV in the family room.

Now certainly, we encourage our vacationing guests to get out and discover all the great things Cape May has to offer, that has nothing to do with sitting in front of a technology box. After all, getting out and exploring this rtown are what helps make for a great vacation experience, right? But hey, what a perfect extra benefit it is to know that if you want, you can enjoy the big game in all its large screen glory. Or even better, how about when you'd like to watch a great DVD movie with your kids (maybe on those occasional rainy days). So either way, the feature is just another simple example of how we're always trying to improve the experiences of our vacationing guests. And so far the feedback from has been great — they really love the new screen. And appreciate any way to keep the kids happy. So thanks and keep those suggestions coming!

See Alpacas During Your Cape May Fall Vacation to the Longfellow House!

Pack-a-lunch at the Longfellow Guest House and take the kids on a bike trip to see Alpacas at the Bay Springs Farm!

If you missed the answer to last week's Jeopardy question and are wondering what in the heck is an Alpaca...

Alpacas (Vicugna pacos) are a domesticated species of South American. They resemble small llamas in appearance...or as Dr. Dolittle might venture “a close relative to the shy and elusive ‘Push-me-Pull-U!’

Cape May's Beautiful Light House, Worth a Visit!

Here’s a classic Longfellow Guest House adventure for kids and adults... and one where you’ll want to be sure to capture with your camera!

If you walk to the end of the board walk in the direction of the cove, you’ll see a long stretch of open beach...and you’ll see the iconic Cape May Lighthouse in the distance (subject of all sorts of touristy Cape May Pictorials).

The white Cape May Lighthouse towers 157 feet high and serves as a peaceful sentry over the picturesque peninsula - but one of the more unusual things about the light house is that the park allows visitors inside and can walk the stairs!

Not up for the challenge?

Don’t worry - it’s a fairly easy climb with convenient landings every 30 steps for taking short breaks or read various facts about the lighthouse.

Once at the top... you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view...and if you and the kids are really lucky its possible to see dolphins swimming in the ocean!

Cape May Vacation Bike Trip Fun

Cape May Summer Biking Family Fun

Move over Lance Armstrong!

It doesn't get much flatter then south jersey's Cape May beach resort...which makes it perfect for biking and a fun way of keeping fit!

Cape May's flat terrain, shady tree covered roads, strictly enforced speed zones and historic architecture make it a great place to bike. But if your family is looking for that extra bit of adventure..that Tour de France...then you'll want to consider biking to Higbys Beach and perhaps even a trip on the Cape May Lewes Ferry to Delaware...and back!
