Valentines / President's Day Holiday
Valentine's Day can be a fun, off-beat time to visit Cape May. It's actually the perfect weekend to getaway with your honey, or even with a larger group of friends and couples. This year President's Day approximates the Valentine's holiday. And since President's Day weekend is really the first calendar milepost of turning the corner to Spring, we thought we'd celebrate by creating a combo getaway special (details below).
One of our favorite Valentine's Day activities is to share a dinner with family or friends at one of the establishments open over the winter.
Our favorite place is Louisa's on Jackson Street. It's a tiny, cozy, charming place where you have to bring your own wine, which we love. And since the liquor store is right up the street that's easy to do. Louisa's cooks up fresh, healthy dishes (pasta, seafood, veggies) and is very reasonably priced.
We recommend the Romaine and blue cheese salad with their house dressing, the pan sautéed shrimp or crab cakes main course, and the whiskey vanilla sauce bread pudding for dessert. Also the black bottom pie is really good.

Rent for 2 or more nights over the valentine's Day/ President's Day Holiday (2014) ... we'll add a complimentary extra night for your stay.

Louisa's restaurant on Jackson Street is a wonderful place to spend a romantic dinner over Valentines Day with your loved one.
Call ahead to plan in advance and be sure to bring your favorite bottle of wine (conveniently, Colliers Liquor is half a block away). Louisa's hung a copy of my (Michael Longfellow) photograph in their dining room. Look for it, tell them we sent you, and then ask for the bread pudding with vanilla whiskey sauce.
